FANTASTIC ARCHITECTURE - eds. Dick Higgins and Wolf Vostell
"This documentation of ideas and concepts of a new polymorphous reality is offered as
evidence of the methods and processes that were introduced by FLUXUS,
HAPPENINGS, and POP. A demand for new patterns of behaviour - new unconsumed
ENVIRONMENTS. The accent in all of the works in this book lies on CHANGE - i.e.
EXPANSION of physical surroundings, sensibilities, media, through disturbance of the
familiar. ACTION IS ARCHITECTURE! EVERYTHING IS ARCHITECTURE! . . .
our projects - our
environments are meant to free man. ONLY THE REALIZATION
OF UTOPIAS WILL
MAKE MAN HAPPY AND RELEASE HIM FROM HIS
FRUSTRATIONS! use your
imagination! Join in . . . share the power! share property!" - from the introduction.

you prefer -
concrete poem, which I constructed in 1994 and appears here for the first time
in print. This mammoth, grid formation text piece is
accompanied by a riotous,
18 page section of badge designs, text-based badges,
many previously unseen,
made in tiny quantities or only distributed at specific events.
Each copy of
whipping jumpy squirts is slightly different, the cover is laser printed onto 'found' papers,
ink colours and page order were repeatedly changed during production.

G.P.O. versus G.P-O - MAIL ACTION
In 1976 Genesis P-Orridge, Performance Artist, Musician, Mail Artist and Youth Leader
was prosecuted for sending several postcards with 'indecent designs or images' through the
British postal system. He decided to turn this court case into an art event/performance
which is thoroughly doccumented in this publication. The book includes images of the
original postcards together with the court summons, solicitors letters, character references
from William Burroughs and Sir Norman Reid - Tate Gallery Director, cards & letters of
support, Press Clippings, Photographs of the artist
and supporters outside the court
and also the list of people that
Genesis P-Orridge invited to attend the trial,
including Artists, Curators, Pornographers and Charles Manson.
Originally published in 1976 by Ecart, Geneva, this book has been out of print and
near-impossible to get hold of for
decades, it provides a fascinating look at this unique
event - a cultural collision between the authorities,
the UK art establishment, important 1970s British artists and the International Postal Art Network.
104 pages, 26.5 x 20 cm, B&W, Primary Information, New York, 2103.
