PAPER PAPER These books are made out of paper wrappers - used to package large quantities of
blank paper or card when it is delivered by the paper merchant/wholesaler. I've collected/hoarded them
for several years, and each copy of is unique. PAPER PAPER is a companion volume to PINK PAPER
(see below) and will at some time in the future be joined by WHITE PAPER and BROWN PAPER...

Pink Paper, Mark Pawson, 2004 - 2009 Made entirely from intensely bright, dazzling fluorescent
pink paper, the pages in The Pink Paper have been repeatedly screwed up and then flattened, crumpled
up and then smoothed out, scrunched up and then pressed... the harsh fluorescant paper becomes creased,
worn and degraded, and gradually becomes softer, more flexible and floppy -taking on the character of
a fabric rather than paper. Signed & numbered, edition of 49 copies, handsewn, 20 pgs, 16x16cm

Previously known as AGGRESSIVE SCHOOLBOOK and produced in small batches
continually from 1993-2007, this book has evolved so much over the years, that it was time for the name
to change and evolve as well... pre-printed paper plundered from an amazing variety of sources, woodchip
wallpaper, maps, overprinted fashion glossies, catalogues, 3-D comics, colouring books, surplus stickers,
lovely leftovers, delightful debris, pretty post-it notes, wonderful wastepaper etc etc.

Noggins are handmade Viking figures with wooden bodies and furry beards - they are both
warlike and cute - fluffy but ready for a fight. They originated as Scandinavian tourist souvenirs
and a thousand years after the original Vikings, Noggins set out from Scandinavia, invading
peoples homes and settling on knick-knack shelves around the world!

I spent 5 years collecting and researching Noggins , amassing a small army of wooden Viking
warriors. With an artists eye for detail and the passion of an obsessed collector, this unique
book provides a fascinating look at Noggins and their close relatives. NOGGINS+ has 22 pages of full colour Viking figures, many duotone images, Anatomy of a
Noggin diagram plus informative & amusing text and comments on individual figures.

The book was printed on digital stencilprinters the modern day descendents of Roneo/Gestetner
duplicators at Knust, Netherlands, this labour-intensive printing method which gives a unique
rustic print quality. Stencilprinters are not designed for colour printing - full colour printing
pushes their capabilities to the extreme, consequently some pages have discrepancies/slight
mis-registration which is part of the process. 44 pgs, softback. perfectbound, 18 x 27 cm. 1200 copies, 2001.
