WALLPAPER?For the December 2001 exhibition wallpaper? Mark Pawson wallpapered the
interior of the Tatty Devine shop with unusual and unlikely materials in a why-dont-you
try-this-at-home approach to interior decoration. The limited edition wallpaper? catalogue has a
unique cover
made up of 12 mini books which open at different angles and contains samples of
all the materials
used for wallpaper?; post-it notes, pizza menus, postcards, gallery floor-plans,
braille hymnbooks,
plug wiring diagrams and more together with texts, photos of the completed
installation and
original diagrams & sketches.

oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
This book is a by-product of the badge making process, the perforated pages are the waste
material left after printed paper discs to be made up into badges have been cut out.
The overlay of multiple circle grids reminds me of dot screens and moire patterns,
foam rubber, Dieter Rots books and childrens books with windows letting
you peep through to future pages.
Images are minimal and incidental; notes and quantities in the margins, deleted or
misprinted badge art. The differing circle layouts reflect changes in technologies
utilised, earlier designs were photocopied, random layouts as badge artwork is slapped
on the copier glass, resized and multiplied, Recent lazerprinted designs use a fixed
grid of 35 badge blanks -the optimum ammount that fit evenly spaced on an A4 sheet of paper.
Its this fixed grid which gives the book its title; oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
- thirty-five lower case round o's, not oval-shaped capital Os or zeros.
21x29cm, thirty-five pages, hundreds of holes, handsewn, signed & numbered edition of 300
copies

oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Special Editions - Japan, Wood, Maps.
This book is a by-product of the badge making process, the perforated pages are the waste material left
after the paper discs to be made up into badges have been cut out. I just made a very few
special copies
of
oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo using special papers collected from recent badge designs.
These books are extremely fragile, half of each page has been cut away - a nightmare for
librarians and
archivists - and very fiddly to assemble them as well! Small edition sizes.
